People who’ve offered analyses of causation? Sure. Start here. If you’re interested in the phil. of science angle, you might like David Lewis, Jim Woodward and Christopher Hitchcock, Bas van Fraassen (from a more skeptical angle), or Tim Maudlin

It’s nice to engage in generalizations about “people who try to discuss philosophy” without having read any of the literature yourself. The point is that the literature already does refute the “meat and bones of his positions.” Go do some reading.
