I listened to a talk by a guy who got out of prison after being in for maybe 20 years.

One of the less obvious things that he really noticed was that before he went in, people generally prefaced their statements with “I think that . . . ” Now people start with “I feel like . . .”

ETA: the speaker was Michael Morton. He wrote a book about his experiences, for those who are interested.
