Mitch McConnell is the worst. People should read this book:

Mitch McConnell does whatever he thinks will strengthen his position of power. Everything for him comes down to raising as much money as possible to fund his re-election. The way he gradually did a 180 on campaign finance reform is especially illustrative of his cynical nature. He realized that he wasn’t charismatic or appealing to the public but he was good at getting wealthy people to donate money for him. Recognizing that to win election and re-election he’d have to rely on campaign funding, he positioned himself to “ideologically” oppose any restrictions on campaign contributions.
